About Brentwood
Brentwood can be found at the head of Loch Ewe where the River Ewe, rushing down from Loch Maree meets the sea at the great pool - Poolewe.
During the three years since it was built, Brentwood has become very popular with visitors throughout the year, and 2004 will see some of those visitors making their fourth visit with us.
All the advantages of a modern design and construction soon become obvious when you arrive at Brentwood . The rooms are light and airy. The bathrooms and kitchens are purposeful and smart, and the modern heating systems will keep you warm and cosy; even on the coolest winter day.
There are three apartments in total. Two are on the first floor, and the other on the ground floor.
Each of the apartments on the first floor has a twin bedded and a double bedded room, as well as a sofa bed in the sitting room. There is also a fully equipped kitchen in each apartment and a bathroom.
The third apartment is on the ground floor and has wheelchair access. It has three bedrooms, two twins and a single. All the bedrooms have en-suite facilities. One bathroom is suitable for a disabled person with a little help. This apartment has a large kitchen/dining room and a sitting room.
Close at hand is the village post office and general store, which, during the summer season, remains open until 8 o'clock in the evening. There is a coffee and cake shop in the village, an outdoor specialist and a swimming pool.
Brentwood is owned and managed by Francis, Irene, Larrissa and Julian Madden. The family also own and manage the Poolewe Hotel and are always close at hand to help make your stay enjoyable and relaxing, and help in any way possible. We are able to provide a wealth of information about things to do and see in this area, especially the local hill walks, and we have bicycles for hire.
The Poolewe Hotel itself is known to many generations of locals and visitors alike for its warm welcome and highland hospitality.
Many visitors bring their pets along, and the shorefront, just across the car park from the front door, provides an ideal exercise ground for even the most boisterous.
Brentwood is open throughout the year, and early booking is advised, especially for the busy summer months, and for Christmas and Hogmanay.
